#WorldcupwithSTEVEKONCEPT: Russian Women Warned Not To ‘Fornicate’ With Foreign Fans

The chairman of a Russian parliamentary committee has urged Russian women to

refrain from sleeping with visiting World Cup fans to avoid becoming single

mothers with mixed-race children.

Tamara Pletnyova, a 70-year-old Communist who leads the lower house’s family,

women and children body, told Govorit Moskva radio she hoped women would

not date visiting fans and get pregnant.

The World Cup hosted by Russia could boost the number of young women falling

pregnant, the top politician warned, adding: ‘I hope they get something clear in

their heads regarding foreigners.

“There will be girls who meet men, and then they will give birth. Maybe they

will get married, maybe they won’t. But the kids will suffer, just like they

suffered [after the 1980 Mosco Olympics].”

Ms Pletnyova claimed her comments were not motivated by nationalism, but

suggested it was better if children were born from parents of the same race.

Daily Mail quoted Pletnyova as saying that lessons should be learned from the

USSR era when some local women became pregnant after having then-unusual

relationships with foreigners at the Moscow Olympics in 1980.

Asked if the World Cup could cause a spike in Russia’s birth rate – a key goal for

President Vladimir Putin – Pletnyova replied:

“It is one thing if the parents are of the same race; quite another if they are

of different races,” she said. “We should give birth to our own children.”

The politician chose not to mention the use of condoms.

Russia has the largest HIV epidemic in Europe, and the highest rates of increase in

the world. More than half of new HIV infections in Russia occur through

heterosexual sex, suggesting a transition from more traditional risk groups is

underway.
