June 12: Governor Ambode unveils new MKO Abiola Statue in Lagos (Photo)

Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode today unveiled a new Chief MKO Abiola Statue at the MKO
Abiola Garden, Alapere - Ketu in commemoration of the annual June 12 anniversary.
At the event, the governor delivered a keynote address while late MKO Abiola’s son, Abdul-Mumuni
Abiola also gave a response concerning the monument on behalf of the family.

PDP: Reconciliation move breaks down

THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, runners up in the party’s governorship primary, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, has declared that he was still in the race, adding that he has not stepped down for the candidate of the party, Senator Ademola Adeleke. Senator Adeleke is having a case in the Osun State high court over his eligibility to contest the September 22 election. A statement by the campaign organization of Dr Ogunbiyi reads: “The attention of Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has been drawn to a misinformation going round that Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has signed an agreement and withdrawn for Senator Ademola Adeleke. “We wish to put the records straight.
