President Buhari officially confers GCFR title on late MKO Abiola(photos)

President Buhari has formally conferred the title of the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic on
late Chief MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993, Presidential election.
The conferment of the honour on the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola comes 25 years after
the election, which is recognised as the freest in the country’s history.
His son, Kola, received the award on behalf of his late father at the investiture ceremony taking place
at the state house, Abuja.
