President Buhari, today sent warm greetings to erudite lawyer and human rights activist, Femi
Falana, SAN, on his 60th birthday. Read the statement below...
The president joins family members, friends and professional colleagues of the cerebral
lawyer in celebrating the milestone, which has been marked with honours and awards for
forthrightness and advocacy for the good of every Nigerian.
He commends Falana's sense of patriotism over the years, and his advisory roles to leaders,
institutions and governments, especially on the value of good governance. As the legal
luminary turns 60, the President believes his antecedents have been most exemplary and
commendable in advocating for a better life for the poor and underprivileged.
President Buhari prays that the almighty God will grant the human rights lawyer longer life,
good health and more wisdom to keep serving the country.

Boko Haram Ambush Passengers, Release Muslims, Detain Christians

  ISWAP,  a deadly faction of the now-depleted Boko Haram Insurgents on Tuesday ambushed passengers on the Maiduguri- Tamsu Kawu-Ngamdu-Damaturu road. Naija News gathered that the terrorists abducted several passengers aboard eight commercial and private vehicles near a bridge between Tamsu Kawu and Ndamdu town at about 3PM. Multiple sources told Vanguard that most of the passengers were later taken to a river where they were released after reciting some verses in the Muslim faith, accept three persons suspected to be Christian’s who failed to do so, as they were detained at the time other victims were asked to go back.
